Kovakka Mezhukkupuratti/Kovakka Fry/Tondora fry/Kovakkai Fry
Ingredients
- Kovakka/Tindora - 1 cup
- Shallots/Chriya Ully/Small onion -10 (Cut into 4 pieces)
- Curry Leaves -1 spring
- Red Chilly flakes -1/2 tsp (Optional)
- Green Chilly -2
- Mustard seeds -1/2 tsp
- Oil -2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
Directions :
- Wash the Kovakka/Tindora and drain all the water
- Cut top and bottom of the kovakka and slice it lengthwise or thick rounds
- Cut the
Shallots into 4 pieces or onion into medium size slices
- In a pan ,heat the oil and add Mustard seeds.When it pop ups, add the Kovakka ,Green Chilly,Curry leaves and stir occasionally(Reduce the heat into low flame)
- Cook for 3-5 minutes and then add salt ,onion and mix well
- Cook covered for about 5-8 minutes in a low flame and stir in between
- Then add chilly flakes and cook uncovered about 5 minutes ,stir occasionally
