Coconut Chutney -Thenga Chammandhi
Ingredients
- Grated coconut - 1 cup
- Red chilly - 6 / chilly powder - 1 tsp
- Small onion - 3
- Curry Leaves - 3 petals
- Salt to taste
For Tempering :
- Small onion sliced- 2
- Red chilly broken into 2 pieces-2
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Curry Leaves - 10 petals
- Oil -1 tsp
Directions :
- Fry the Red chilly , onion and curry Leaves (If you are using red chilly powder no need of frying)
- Grind the coconut with fried ingredients
- Heat a heavy bottom pan and add Mustard seeds
- Once the mustard seeds pops up, add the broken red chilly,curry leaves and sliced small onion
- When the onion turns light brown add the ground mixture
- Add salt to taste
- Adjust the water for thickness
- Serve with dosa,idly
Tips: Use Dry Red chilly for real taste.
