Potato Bonda

Potato Bonda



Ingredients

  1. Potato -3
  2. Onion -3/4 cup
  3. Cumin Seeds/Jeera -1/2 tsp
  4. Turmeric Powder -1/2 tsp 
  5. Green chilly - 4
  6. Ginger - 1/2 tsp
  7. Lime Juice -1/2 lemon's or 2 tbsp
  8. Coriander Leaves- few chopped
  9. Salt to taste

For Batter

  1. Gram Flour/Basan/Kadalamavu -1 cup
  2. Rice Flour-2 tsp
  3. Baking soda-1 pinch
  4. Chilly Powder -1/2 tsp
  5. Salt to taste

Directions

  • Add a little water to the batter ingredients and make smooth paste
  • Boil the potatoes and peel it and mash it nicely and keep aside
  • Chop the onion,Ginger and green chilly
  • Heat the oil and add cumin seeds and saute till it become light brown
  • Add chopped onion ,ginger and green chillies and saute for 3 minutes
  • Add Turmeric powder and salt and mix well 
  • Add Lemon juice and mix well 
  • Add mashed potatoes and chopped coriander leaves and mix well
  • Make small balls using the mixture and keep it in a plate

  • Heat oil in a pan 
  • Dip the potato balls in the batter and deep fry
  • Serve hot with spicy chutney or ketch up.
