Vendakka Pachadi/Okra/Ladies Finger Curd Curry



Ingredients

  1. Vendakka/Okra/Ladies Finger - 10 
  2. Small onion/shallots -3
  3. Cumin Seeds/Jeera -1 tsp
  4. Mustard -1/4 tsp
  5. Green Chilly -1
  6. Red Chilly -2
  7. Oil -2 tsp
  8. Curry Leaves -1 spring
  9. Thick Yogurt/Thayir - 1 cup
  10. Grated Coconut -1 cup
  11. Water -1/4 cup
  12. Salt to taste

Directions :

  • Cut the Ladies finger/Vendakka into  thin rounds
  • Chop the small onion finely
  • Cut the green chilly in the middle
  • Grind together the grated coconut,2 shallots/Cheriya ulli  and 1 tsp cumin seeds to make a smooth paste
  • Mix the the yogurt with coconut mixture and salt 
  • Heat the oil in the pan, add mustard seeds,when it pop ups add onion green chilly,Red chilly ,curry leaves and okra/Vendakka
  • Stir till the Vendakka/Ladies finger become crispy
  • Remove from the fire and allow it to cool
  • Put the Vendakka/Okra mixture in to the curd and mix well
  • Serve with Rice.
