Thakkali Curry/Tomato Curry
Ingredients
- Tomato - 2
- Green chilly -4
- Onion -1/2 cup
- Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
- Mustard seeds -1/2 tsp
- Curry Leaves -1 Spring
- Oil -2 tsp
- Salt to taste
For Gronding
- Grated Coconut -3/4 cup
- Cumin seeds-1/4 tsp
- Shallots/Cheriya ulli-3
Directions
- Wash and cut the tomato into medium size slices and cut the onion into thin slices and keep it aside
- Grind Coconut,Cumin seeds and Shallots to make a smooth paste
- Heat the oil in a pan add mustard seeds,when it crackles add Curry leaves and sliced onion and saute till onion become light brown
- Add tomato and green chilly and saute till tomatoes are nicely cooked
- Now add Turmeric powder and salt and cook for a minute add little water and allow it to boil
- Add the ground mixture and stir well
- Adjust the Salt and water
- Cook in the medium flame about 5 minutes and remove from the fire
- Serve with rice.
